Ernest's Obituary
Mr. Ernest Phillip Greenway age 76 of Brownsville, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Bells Nursing and Rehab.
He was born September 9, 1940 in Haywood County to the late Ernest D. Greenway and Maude Louise Taylor Greenway. Mr. Greenway was always known for his sense of humor and was worked in the construction industry by trade.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Laquita Climer and a granddaughter, Laura Fletcher Griffin.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley Greenway; daughter, Lisa Vernon (Jeffery) of Three Way; son Charles Phillip Greenway (Debbie) of Brownsville; sister Nancy Goodwin of Brownsville. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Elizabeth Nicole Griffin Ellington (Jason) and Robbin Teems (Shad) as well as four great grandchildren, Alexis, Dakota, Judah and Erica.
Serving as pallbearers are David Earl Goodwin, Mark Climer, Billy Wayne Jackson, Bo Dancy, Mike Warren and Tony Dancy. Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Lane and Michael Climer.
Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Phillip Greenway will be conducted Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Neenan officiating. Burial will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Greenway family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Mr. Greenway.
