Elizabeth Faustina Bond

Elizabeth Faustina "Tina" Bond, 57, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at her home in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park Ave. Memphis, TN. Graveside Services will follow at 4:30 P.M. in Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. A visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Ms. Bond was preceded in death by her father: Rex F. Bond (of Brownsville); her grandparents: the late F.A. Bond & his first wife Faustina (Tina) Curlin Bond and second wife, Lura Cox Bond (all of Bonds Crossing, Madison County, TN); and the late Fred Tyrrell Jones & Mary Sears Rogers Jones (of Brownsville). Tina is survived by her mother, roommate and best friend Ms. Mary Tyrrell Jones Bond (of Memphis); her sister Lura Bond Alyea and her husband, David, and his daughter, Wendy (all of Cordova); her beloved pet cats, Bentley and Baxter; two uncles: Thomas Bond and his wife Sara (of Bonds Crossing, Madison County, TN), and Garland Bond and his wife Jan (of Little Rock, AR), her dear friends, Joe & Robin (of Memphis) and Jada along with her daughter, Alexandra (of Myrtle Beach) who was Tina's goddaughter. Tina graduated high school from Tennessee Academy in Brownsville and college from University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She also studied law at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Tina's passion was reading that started as a child, flourished with her degree in English Literature from UT and continued throughout her lifetime. Tina was fiercely loyal to those she loved which also included her love of UT basketball and football. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or Humane Society of Memphis (www.memphishumane.org) or a charitable organization of sender's choice.
