Elgin's Obituary Elgin Cheatham, age 84, of Bells, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at his residence. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church where he was a deacon for over 30 years. He was a retired farm manager for Pictsweet with over 30 years service, a blacksmith, and mechanic. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2014, at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Bells, TN. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Walnut Hill Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Ronnie Davidson, Bro. Carl Teel, and Bro. Justin Moreland. Interment will follow in the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bells, TN. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Cheatham; one son, Charles (Kimberly) Cheatham; two daughters, Paulette Williams and Sherri (Stanley) Gideon all of Bells, TN; one sister, Mildred Haynes of Alamo, TN; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Enoch Cheatham and Mary Edna Church Dove Cheatham Blurton, and several brother and sisters.
