Edwin Necaise

Mr. Edwin S. Necaise, age 79, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN. Memorial Services will be conducted Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. A visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Ed was born on June 15, 1936 in Gulfport, MS to Merlin Charles and Katherine Marie DeDeaux Necaise. He graduated from Pass Christian High School, attended Southern Mississippi University and continued his education at Memphis State University where he received his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. He taught at Trezevant High School for 34 years where he served as the Athletic Director, Head Football Coach and Teacher. He was inducted into the TN Amateur Sports Hall of Fame for Fast Pitch Softball and he also won 25 Senior Olympic Medals for Swimming and Basketball. He was the former Mayor of Stanton and County Commissioner of Haywood County. He was preceded in death by his parents: Merlin Charles and Katherine Marie DeDeaux Necaise. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Nash Necaise, Stanton, TN, three sons: Michael Edwin Necaise (Judi), Boca Raton, FL. William Nash Necaise (Lynda), Stanton, TN and Robert Bland Necaise (Karen), Cordova, TN, his twin brother: Elvin John "Itsy" Necaise (Ann), Gulfport, MS and their children: Danny and Barry, his grandchildren: Kristin Necaise, Lauren Necaise, Jessica Necaise, Kaitlin Necaise, Hannah Necaise, Jeffrey Necaise, Rebekah Disney, Dale Disney and one great granddaughter: Anabelle. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please call 855-448-3997 to donate.
