Doug's Obituary Mr. Franklin Douglas Vestal age 71 of Dyersburg, formerly of Brownsville, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Vestal was born on August 23, 1946 in Lauderdale County to the Late Matthew Vestal and Mary Ardell Richardson. Mr. Vestal proudly served his country, in the United States Army in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Vestal; one brother, Aubrey Vestal and three sisters, Barbara Wall, Pansy Sparks and Margaret Vestal. Survivors include two brothers, Phil Vestal and wife Kitty of Ripley and Rick Vestal and wife Alice of Brownsville and two sisters Diane Jackson and husband Larry of Michigan and Shirl Daugherty of Brownsville. Other survivors include four grandchildren. A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Mr. Vestal were held Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home. A private burial followed in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Mr. Vestal.
