Dorothy Jean Wiley

August 21, 1948 — June 19, 2017

Sis. Dorothy J. Wiley was the third child of seven children born August 21, 1948 to the late Robert Wiley Jr. and Addie M. Wiley in Brownsville, TN. Sis. Dorothy died peacefully after a short illness on June 19, 2017 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Brownsville, TN. 

Dorothy dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized in 1974. When she made her dedication to Jehovah, she remained faithful until death. When she retired she fulfilled her dream in becoming a full-time Pioneer-Preaching from door to door daily like a full-time job.

Dorothy was educated through Haywood County School System. She graduated from Carver High School Class of 1967. After graduation she relocated to Milwaukee, WI and attended Manpower Business College where she received her Secretarial Degree. She was employed as a Secretary until she returned to Brownsville, TN in 1992.

In 1996, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed in the Nursing Field for 15 years with employment at Skilled Nursing Center, Jackson Madison County General Hospital, West Tennessee Healthcare Hospice and retired in 2011. Dorothy loved her profession.

She was preceded in death by her father; Robert Wiley, Jr. and sister; Rebecca Wiley Moton.

She leaves to cherish her memories, mother, Addie Mae Wiley, four sisters, Alice Johnson, Milwaukee, WI, Mary Jones and Caroline Wiley, Brownsville, TN, Clara (Willie) Spears, Surprise, AZ, one brother, Albert (Waldine) Wiley, Brownsville, TN, three nieces, Chelsea Wiley, Sheena Henderson and Charlotte Johnson, two nephews, Andrew Moton and Jason Jones, one great niece, Maiyah Henderson, five great nephews, Christopher, Chase and Chandler McCure, D’Ante Nash and Carlos (CJ) Henderson, and host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
