Dorothy Curlin Morris of Haywood County died August 7, 2016. She was born July 14, 1921, in the Woodland Community of Haywood County. She was a retired school teacher for Haywood County Schools.
The family will receive visitors, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, Tennessee, with services immediately following. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Haywood County.
She was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. A proud graduate of the West Tennessee State Teachers College, she began her teaching career at the Wilmot one-room school house in Southeast Haywood County. She was a student of genealogy and a proud descendant of the earliest settlers of Haywood County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Stuart and Bob Taylor Curlin, and her husband, Jimmie Joe Morris, Jr.
She is survived by her son, James Robert Morris (Lucille), her sister, Bobby Curlin Reid (Bond), and her grandson, Stuart Franklin Morris. She also leaves her beloved nieces and nephews, many friends, and a host of former students.
