Dorothy's Obituary Mrs. Dorothy Lee Copeland Dougan, age 94, entered into Heaven on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was born June 10, 1923, in Madison County, TN, to the late Harvey Copeland and Amy Gertrude Garey Copeland. Mrs. Dougan was a telephone operator for South Central Bell, a bookkeeper and a member of Ararat Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Philip Dougan; six siblings, Juanita Copeland, Louise Jackson, Alton Copeland, Howard Copeland, Grady Copeland and Billy Copeland, and a great-grandson, Christopher Tyler Oliver. Mrs. Dougan is survived by her children; Mike Dougan (Beth), Garey Dougan (Margaret), Barbara Dougan Acred (Terry), and Phyllis Dougan, as well as eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Dougan will be held at Ararat Baptist Church Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. J.V. Davis and Bro. Terry Acred officiating. Burial will follow in the Ararat Church Cemetery. The Dougan family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from Noon until the service hour.
