Doris' Obituary Doris Edwards Joyner, age 86, passed away April 8, 2009 at Haywood Park Community Hospital, Brownsville, TN. After a short illness. She was born in Haywood County to her parents: Jesse and Sallie Edwards. She married Floyd Joyner, her husband of sixty years. They farmed and ran Joyner's Grocery Store for over fifty years in the Wellwood Community. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Michelle Joyner Ryan, three brothers: J.L. Edwards, Bobby Edwards and Martin Edwards. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Larry Joyner and his wife, Linda of Memphis, TN and Billy Dwain Joyner of Brownsville, TN; a granddaughter: Marti Joyner Alford and husband, Dan of Cordova, TN; two great-grandsons: Ashley and Scotty Ryan, their dad, Dan from Mannington,W.V.; two brothers: Jesse "Dute" Edwards (Eleanor) of Brownsville, TN, and Billy Edwards (Helen) of Memphis, TN; her sister-in-law: Ann Edwards of Middleton,TN; four nephews, two nieces, scores of friends and neighbors. She was dearly loved by all. She delighted in hosting the Wellwood Reunion party each year at Holly Grove Church. She wrote the essay "Garden of Love" about her beloved Wellwood, which was published in the States Graphic. She was a true nature lover, her flowers, trees and pets, especially Poopie. She thought God gave us spring as candy for the eyes. She couldn't wait for the little wrens to make their nest on her front porch and for the hummingbirds to arrive each year. Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyner will be held at the Brownsville Funeral Home, Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Fred Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Brownsville Funeral Home, Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
