Donna Anne Churchill

December 13, 1946 — May 14, 2017

Donna Anne Owen Churchill, 70, passed away Sunday, May 14 at home in Brownsville, Tennessee. A celebration of her life will be conducted at First United Methodist Church of Brownsville on Saturday, May 27 at 3:00 P.M.. A reception will immediately follow in the Common Room of First United Methodist Church. Donna was a member of the church as well as an Adult Chancel Choir member. She also conducted several children’s choirs and was an active MYF youth counselor.

     She attended the University of Memphis to study music and later received her degree in Music Education from Lambuth University. She was employed with Haywood County Schools, teaching both Show Choir and Concert Choir. Mrs. Churchill taught private voice and piano lessons for over fifty years.

     She later expanded her personal knowledge to include certification as a precious metal clay instructor. She earned certification as a reflexologist and spent many days at Crestview Nursing Home, ministering to residents.

     Numerous hobbies included all types of jewelry making, ceramics, floral arranging, knitting and cooking. She was a master seamstress, accomplished watercolorist, and knowledgeable aromatherapist.

     Mrs. Churchill was an avid supporter of animal rights and was an active member in the local Brownsville chapter of the Humane Society and the national ASPCA.

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Herman O’brient Owen and Anne Katherine Wilbanks, as well as a daughter Aimee Owen Churchill Ogles.

     She is survived by her husband of forty- nine years, Luke E. Churchill, Brownsville, TN., two daughters Jennifer Anne Churchill Friedman (Tommy), Dancyville, TN., and Mary Elizabeth Churchill Pittman: four grandchildren; Britton Gage Friedman, Dancyville, TN., Tristan Riley Ogles, Clarksville, TN, Carson Elizabeth Pittman and Luke Edward Pittman, Brownsville, TN.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA, or to First United Methodist Church of Brownsville, TN. Youth fund.
