Dewey Jones

Henry Dewey Jones, after celebrating his 90th birthday on Monday, November 4, 2019, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Crestview Healthcare Rehabilitation Center (AHC) in Brownsville, TN, where he had gone for physical therapy following a short stay in the hospital.  His funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the Brownsville Funeral Home.   Entombment will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.   Visitation for Mr. Jones will be held on Tuesday Evening, November 12, 2019, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church and as a part of the Haywood Baptist Association, taught the Sunday School lesson on the Brownsville Radio Station every Sunday Morning for over 40 years.  He served on the Board of the Tennessee Baptist Foundation in Brentwood, TN, and served as a City Alderman in Brownsville for almost 9 years.  For 49 years, he worked himself up from a bookkeeper to Executive Vice-President of the Brownsville Bank, and also served on the Board of Directors.  Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Martha Herbert Jones, a son, Alan Jones (Debbie),  a daughter, Lorie Jones, one brother, Bobby Jones (Melanie), five granddaughters, Julie Jones Hopkins (Heath), Heather Jones Bolinger (Ryan), Tiffanie Jones, Jessica Rice Byrd (Brent), Jennifer Stephens,   8 great-grandchildren, Hayden Hopkins, John Hopkins, Hazel Hopkins, Jack Hopkins, Jensen Bolinger, Grey Bolinger, Dylan Byrd and Gunner Byrd.    He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Jones and Ruth Hinsley Jones, a half-brother, Ted McWhirter and a grandson Mark Stephens.

Pallbearers for Mr. Jones are Heath Hopkins, Ryan Bolinger, Brent Byrd, Bob Bond, Ricky Hopper, Terry Brown, Mike Jones, Travis Clenney, and Ed Davis, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are the Gideons International in Brownsville, TN, and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Holly Grove Baptist Church.
