Dennis Keith Watson

Loving his Lord surrounded by his family and friends, Dennis made his final journey January 27, 2019. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church will burial to follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Dennis was an active member of Mt. Pleasant UMC where he served as Sunday School Director and Head Usher for years. The congregation will best remember him for singing base with the Do-Me-Good Quartet. He leaves behind to cherish his memory Leann “Punkin” Phillips Watson,  his mother, Opal Watson, two brothers, Brian Watson (Diane) and Chris Watson, one sister, Wendy Elrod (Dale), one sister in law, Angie Francis (Mark), all of Hillville, one brother in law, Zane “Rip-Porcupine” Phillips, a best friend and partner in crime, Charlie Moody (Susan), eleven nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Watson, his sister and brother in law, Rhonda and Earl Holmes, his father in law, Eddie Phillips and his sister in law, Kelly Phillips who gave him the nickname Scooter.

Dennis worked for Garrett Farms for fifteen years and at Lowe’s for thirteen years. He worked for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society off and on for fifteen years. Last year he portrayed “The Great Wizard of Oz” to the delight of children of all ages. Unfortunately, the cure wasn’t found in time. God Bless.
