Delois Davis Baggett, age 89, passed away at her residence in the Tibbs Community, on Friday July 29, 2022. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Cemetery with Bro. Lonnie Robinson, officiating. Burial will follow.
Mrs. Delois Baggett was born on May 22, 1933, in Tipton County, to Jesse Owen Davis and Allie Louisa Coulston Davis. She worked as a Bookkeeper for over 40 years for the Haywood County Highway Department. She was a longtime member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She loved to cook and to crochet. Through the years, she has enjoyed painting, making potholders and pillows for friends and family.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Baggett of the Tibbs Community; one brother-in-law, Larry Baggett and his wife, Patricia and their son, Tony Baggett and his wife, Lisa, their two children, Laura Leigh Baggett and Anthony Baggett and wife, Lacey, and their son George; one niece, Carolyn Castellaw and her husband, Tommy, their two children, Mike Castellaw and Cathy Pugh, and her children, Ryan Pugh and Emily Taylor and her husband, Josh, and Sarah Castellaw; as well as her beloved caregivers, Toni Simmons and Lunnie Tyus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Baggett, Jr.; her parents, Jesse and Allie Louisa Davis; one daughter, Mary Jane Baggett; and one sister, Lillie Mae Davis Hightower.
Honorary Pallbearers for the service are Billy Brown Thomas, Joey Parker, Garrison Parker, Anthony Baggett, Ryan Pugh, Dave Simmons, Tony Baggett, Bennie McBroom, Milton Sills, and the Haywood County Highway Department Employees.
