David Carl Coulston, age 76 of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2021 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
David was born on August 14, 1944 in Mason, Tennessee, to the late William Luther and Zora Mae Webb Coulston. David started D.C. Redi-Mix in 1974 and operated it until 1978 before opening D.C. Construction and Trucking Inc., where he worked until his death. David was a proud Haywood Countian, father, husband, contractor, and man you could always depend upon.
He was known for the countless projects throughout Haywood County and West Tennessee. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, stern personality, and kindheartedness. He had a love for barbequing for his friends and family, the weekly Nascar drawing, and being on his dozer. David’s strong character and love for all is the greatest legacy he is leaving his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jennifer Smoot Coulston; two daughters, Carla Morris and Angela Baggett (Galon); one son, Chris Coulston (Julie); seven grandchildren, Randall (Emily), Katie (Thomas), Rachel (John), Harley (Riley), Maddie (Garrett), Clayton, and Maclaren; six great-grandchildren, Cannon, Harper, Molly Randall Morris, Preston and Ava Marbury, and Cohen Vandergriff. He is also survived by five brothers, L.J., Lawrence Dennis, Paul James, Earl, and Donnie Coulston.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, William Luther, and Robert Luther; and two sisters, Velma Reimert and Sue Davisson.
The family would like to express their thanks for the outpouring support, calls, and messages during this difficult time. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a private service will be held for immediate family only.
Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the charity of their choice.
All services are under the direction of Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
