Darrell's Obituary
Mr. Darrell Lawton Brewer, Sr. age 62 of Camden, formerly of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his residence.
He was born September 6, 1955 in Huntingdon to the late, Rev. Lawton G. Brewer and Carrie Kindle Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a 1973 graduate of Huntingdon High School and a 1975 graduate of Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. In 1976, He and his father opened Decatur County Funeral Home in Parsons later named Brewer Funeral Home. In 1980, they built Brewer Funeral Home in Decaturville. He was proud to be a funeral director and embalmer serving families for many years. Mr. Brewer was also in the trucking business. He not only owned trucks but drove over the road himself. He enjoyed traveling the highways across the country.
He is survived by three sons, DJ Brewer and wife Kim of Bells, Chris Brewer and wife Chelsea of Medina and Preston Brewer of Scotts Hill; sister, Karen Hall and husband Richard of Memphis; companion, Bobbie Craig of Camden; step-daughter, Danni Craig of Camden. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Maddy, Peyton, Dylan, Jaylee Jo and Teegan.
Serving as pallbearers are Peyton Brewer, Randy Inman, David Robertson, Larry Fisher, Danny Turpin, Heath Williams, Jason Mileham, Matthew Tucker and James Keeton. Honorary pallbearers are Junior King, Larry Parrish and Mike Broadway.
Funeral services for Mr. Brewer will be conducted Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Stapleton, Bro. James Keeton and DJ Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Farmville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from noon until the service hour.
