Danny Presley

Mr. Danny Paul Presley, age 67, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Jackson- Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Brownsville Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Brownsville Baptist Church. Danny was born November 11, 1948 to Charles William Presley, Sr. and Fay Gamble Presley. He graduated from Haywood High School in 1967 and entered into the Army in 1969 with distinguished service in Vietnam being awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart for Combat Wounds. He retired in December of 2012 after 40 years with Southwest Electric. He also sang in various quartet groups for 50 years, being most well known for the Laymen Quartet and most recently Renewed Gospel Ministries. Danny was preceded in death by his father: Charles William Presley, Sr. and a brother: Charles William Presley, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Gail Presley, his mother: Fay Gamble Presley both of Brownsville, TN, three daughters: Lisa Carlton, Brownsville, TN, Lori Smith (Bradley) Jackson, TN, and Leslie Presley Keathley, Brownsville, TN, one brother: Barry Presley, Brownsville, TN, two sisters: Wanda Presley-Hays (Herb) Jackson, TN, Judy Presley Westover (Grover) Brownsville, TN, six grandchildren: Bryse Carlton, Brenna Carlton, Will Allen Smith, Emma Smith, Macon Keathley and Abigail Keathley. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund for the VFW Chapter 4838, 507 N. Lafayette, Brownsville, TN 38012.
