Connie Lee Matheny

Connie Lee Matheny September 18, 1938 - April 11, 2017 Ms. Connie Lee Matheny, age 78 passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 peacefully surrounded by her family at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Ms. Matheny worked for the Haywood County Health Department as an LPN, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, and she was passionate about her family. She was a very caring and loving person to everyone that she came in contact with. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Matheny will be conducted Friday, April 14th, 2017 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00am. She is survived by her children: Steve Matheny, Southaven, MS, Mike Matheny (Rita), and Cheryl Evans (Wesley), both of Brownsville, TN, eight grandchildren: Emily Prine, Mary Stoots (Scott), John Evans (Chelsey), Madeline Matheny, Miles Matheny, Maegin Matheny, Michael Matheny (Heather), and Katie Matheny, and six great grandchildren: Kelsey, Whitt, Davie, Emery, Liam, and Thea. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Sharon Pettigrew Nursing Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church, 117 East Franklin Street, Brownsville, TN 38012.
