Raymond Forsythe

Raymond Forsythe, age 77, departed this life Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the home of his daughter, in Bells. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. The family will be receiving friends for the visitation on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Raymond was born on February 4, 1946 to Bernon Forsythe and Lavern Bell Forsythe. He was a self employed farmer and enjoyed working on tractors. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting guns and knives. He spent many hours playing cards and watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Addie Ruth Forsythe, two daughters, Rita Sue Forsythe of Alamo, TN, and Marti Smith(Terry); one son, Ray Forsythe II (Erica), both of Brownsville; two sisters, Barbara Nelson(Bobby) of Ripley, TN and Patsy Cato, Mauldin, MO; two brothers, Jerry Forsythe and Terry Forsythe, both of Brownsville, TN; seven grandchildren, Erica Davis, Anna Marie Parker, Parker Colin Crutchfield, Jaydon Smith, Sydnie Smith, TJ Forsythe, and Kayli Forsythe; and three great-grandchildren, Kash Gray, Addie Davis, and Braylen Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernon and Lavern Forsythe; three brothers, Wayne Forsythe, Neal Forsythe, and Jimmy Forsythe.

Pallbearers to serve are Terry Smith, Rob Stuart, Parker Crutchfield, Ricky Nelson, Phillip Forsythe, and Ray Forsythe II.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
