Clarence James Escue, Jr., age 93, passed away on May 13, 2022 at Sugar Creek Retirement Center in Brownsville, TN. Per his wishes, the family held private services.
Clarence was born on January 12, 1929, in Brownsville, TN, to Clarence Escue, Sr. and Emma Ward Escue. He graduated from Haywood High School. He was self-employed and was the owner and operator of Escue & Hill Auto Supply in Brownsville, TN for many years. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying in his spare time. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by them.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Flora Escue of Brownsville, TN; one son, James Escue (Betty) of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Donna Lynn Edgin of Lexington, TN and LeEllen Nance (James) of Ethel, MS; three grandchildren, Eric, John, and Jeffrey, and one great-grandchild, Mavery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Emma Escue, Sr.; one brother, Tommy Escue and one sister, Dorothy Escue.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Marvin Chapel Church Fund, ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), Feed the Children Fund, or Doctors Without Borders. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
