Charles' Obituary Mr. Charles Arthur Roland age 77 of Bells, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1939 in Madison County to the late Edgar Freeland Roland and Sarah Thomas Roland. Mr. Roland was a member of First Baptist Church in Bells and a Veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John “Trigger” Roland and wife Mary Graple Roland who raised him after his parents death, Jim Roland, Bill Roland, Ed Roland and Joe Roland; three sisters, Theola Haynes, Dorothy Mayfield and Betty Darden. Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Ann Walton Roland of Bells; two daughters, Terri Roland Tull and husband Shannon of Crockett Mills and Charlie Roland Moore and husband Michael of Alamo; one brother, Tom Roland and wife Nancy of Jackson; one sister, Annie Rushing of Jackson; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Jean Reese of Jackson and Patsy Walton Weed of Brownsville. Other survivors include grandchildren, John Michael Moore, Charlize Jameson “C.J.” Wood, Madelyn “Maddie” Moore, Scarlet Wood, Roland Tull as well as several nieces and nephews he deeply loved. Serving as pallbearers are, Freeland Scott, Scott Roland, Tommy Roland, Rick Roland, “Smokey” Joe Roland, Russ Roland, Jason Roland, Jonathan Roland and Will Scott. Funeral services for Mr. Charles Arthur Roland will be conducted Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Bells with the pastor, Rev. Dennis Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Corner Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison County with military honors. The Roland family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service hour. The family has requested that those desiring, direct memorials to First Baptist Church in Bells, in memory of Mr. Roland.
