Catherine Elaine McCool Butler

Catherine Elaine McCool Butler, age 75, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Diversicare of Martin, TN. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, TN with Rev. Cindy Schwartz officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

Cathe was born on May 31, 1949, to Joseph Beasley McCool Sr. and Beula Lois Windrow McCool Morrison in Brownsville, TN. Cathe loved gardening and cooking. She enjoyed decorating and making things beautiful for her family. Therefore, shopping was one of her favorite hobbies. Vacationing at Orange Beach and Gulf Shores brought her much happiness, but nothing compared to the joy that she found in her love for her family. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, TN.

Cathe is survived by one son, Joseph Butler (Lindsey) of Collierville, TN; one daughter, Erin Butler (Cary Cutrell) of Brownsville, TN; two grandchildren, Chandler and Adelaide Butler of Collierville, TN; one sister, Madeleine McCool Timbes (Tommy) of Brownsville, TN; two brothers, Joe McCool, Jr. (Renee) and Leslie McCool (Paula) both of Brownsville, TN. She is also survived by the love of her life, Ted Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph McCool, Sr. and Lois Morrison; and one brother, Thomas Windrow McCool.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1801 West End Ave, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37203-2510. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
