Carrie Brewer's Obituary
Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Brewer Sanders age 86 of Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born in June 18, 1930 in Decatur County to the late Arthur Edward Kindle and Hattie Mable Lacy Kindle. Mrs. Sanders graduated from Decaturville High School, worked at Salant and Salant in Parsons for three years and later retired from Publix Shirt Factory in Huntingdon after forty-years. She was a faithful member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church and proud author of her autobiography, “Joys and Sorrows”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Rev. Lawton G. Brewer; sisters, Irene Kindle and Evelyn Wallace and husband Millard; brothers, Holland Kindle and wife Maurine, Albert “Buster” Kindle and wife Faye, Charlie Kindle and wife Jean.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Warren Sanders of Huntingdon; daughter, Karen Hall and husband Richard of Memphis; son, Darrell L. Brewer, Sr. of Camden; Other survivors include her grandchildren, DJ Brewer and wife Kim of Bells, John M. Hall of Memphis, Chris Brewer and wife Chelsea of Medina and Preston Brewer of Scotts Hill as well as two great grandchildren, Maddie Brewer of Medina and Peyton Brewer of Bells.
Serving as pallbearers are DJ Brewer, John M. Hall, Chris Brewer, Preston Brewer, Bart McPeak, Austin Baker and Peyton Brewer.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sanders will be conducted Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with the pastor, Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in Farmville Cemetery in Henderson County. The Sanders family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
