Carolyn was born in Dyersburg, TN, on March 22, 1940, to the late James Allen and Francis Crenshaw. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gordon Perry; two sons, Bill Currie (Julia) and Allen Currie (Cindy); one daughter, Cathy Powell (Mark); two stepsons, Kevin Perry (Cindy) and Shane Perry; one sister, Betty Crenshaw; fourteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear friend and caregiver, Mary Ann Davis; caregivers, Mary Fridley and Ruth Vestal; and 2 other precious ladies, Pat Culp and Audrey Dornan, who took special care to make her last days so very pleasant.
Carolyn attended Dyersburg High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She worked at John Deere Co. and later was the owner of Carolyn’s Gifts and Antique’s on the town square. She was an active member and faithfully served the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, TN for over 60 years. Carolyn adored her family and loved spending time with them all. She also cherished her many friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband spending time in Destin, FL whenever the opportunity presented. Carolyn loved life and was always kind and welcoming, to not only her family, but to everyone she met. She was a blessing to all and is going to be sorely missed.
The family requests that any donations in her honor be made to the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin Street, Brownsville, TN 38012, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
