Carolyn Prince Jackson, age 83, was called to her eternal home in heaven, by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 23, 2021. Carolyn’s Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11 AM in the Allen Baptist Church Sanctuary. Burial will follow in Allen Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be conducted Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 10 AM -11 AM in the church. Bro. Dean Doster and J.P. Barden will be officiating.
Carolyn graduated from Haywood High School and attended Ole Miss and the University of Tennessee at Martin where she received her BS degree in Elementary Education. Later, she worked for the State of Tennessee as a social worker and supervisor for the Department of Human Services. She retired after 30 years. She was a gifted artist, enjoyed needlework and studying her bible. She was a well-respected Sunday School teacher most of her life, a faithful member of Allen Baptist Church for many years before joining New Vision Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband for over 60 years, Raymond Kirby Jackson; a son, Jeff Jackson (Debra); two granddaughters, Cory Kelly (Lucas) and Anna Jackson; two great-granddaughters, Nora Kate Kelly and Aubree Hope Kelly all of Brownsville, TN; a brother, Calvin Prince, Jr. (Sandra) of Southaven, MS; two sisters, Bea Love (Nick) of Crockett Mills, TN, Patricia Stewart (Jack) of Corinth, MS and a special friend, Angie Respress Rogers with Blind Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Forrest and Flora Christine Carothers Prince; two brothers, Jimmy Prince and John Calvin Prince.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Allen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Diane Presley, 142 Chestnut Dr., Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
