Carol Ann Pittman Mathias

Mrs. Carol Ann Pittman Mathias, age 71 passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Crestview Healthcare and Rehab. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Holly Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Carol Ann Pittman Mathias was born in Alamo, TN to Willie Joe and Elsie Acred Pittman. She was a 1964 graduate of Alamo High School. In 1966 she married and moved to Brownsville where she spent most of the rest of her days. She was an active member of Holly Grove Baptist Church where she was well known for her sweet personality, her love for others and her chocolate pies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Joe and Elsie Acred Pittman, one brother, Jerry “Putt” Pittman, one sister, Betty Jo Steele and son-in-law, Mike Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Smith, Brownsville, TN, two sons, Michael Mathias (Teresa), Maury City, TN and Jamie Mathias (Brittany), Millington, TN, seven grandchildren, Debbie Aganza, Joni Smallwood, Wade Mathias, Kayla Mathias, Brandon Smith, Mikey Mathias and Braden Mathias, and six great grandchildren, Adrian, Alex, McKinley, Anna Claire, Trevor and Kieler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Grove Baptist Church, 8488 Poplar Corner Rd., Bells, TN 38006.
