Camille's Obituary Camille Beck Gross, 76, of Roanoke, VA, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013. Cam was born November 15, 1936, in Brownsville, TN: daughter of the late James D. and Mildred Thomason Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Adam Beck and Don Frederick Gross. A graduate of Rollins College, Cam was a retired English teacher from Cave Spring High School, a very active member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, a docent at the Taubman Museum of Art and Alleghany Highlands Arts Center, and a founding member of her treasured book club of ladies from both Covington and Roanoke. She is survived by her daughter, Linda B. Shawcross and husband William H. Shawcross, Jr. of Clemmons, NC; sons, R. Adam Beck and wife, Maureen of Glen Allen, VA; and James Beck and wife Laura of Montclair, NJ; sister, Linda Chapman Rinz of Rockwall, TX; seven grandchildren, whom all affectionately referred to her as "Gigi": Katharine Shawcross, Emily Shawcross, Meghan Beck, Molly Beck, Mara Beck, Andreas Beck, and Jonah Beck. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church in Roanoke, VA, with Rev. Gary Heaton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Brownsville, TN on Sunday, October 13, 2013,at 2:00 PM.
