It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Brenda White Stokely Mann, age 79, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend, who entered her heavenly home on Sunday, June 16, 2024. She passed away at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor Brenda will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Mildred Shumaker and Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Cemetery in the Nutbush Community. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Brenda was born in Ripley, TN on June 24, 1944, to her loving parents, the late Joe Terrell White and Edna Kirby White. Brenda worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in Human Resources for 24 years. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church at Marvin’s Chapel. Her favorite saying was “One Day at a Time”. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and going to baseball games. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family and friends, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her two sons, Terrell Stokely (Marilyn) of Brownsville, TN and Ral Stokely of Brownsville, TN; one daughter, Jenny Lynn Mann Morgan (Bobby) of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Taylor Stokely, B.J. Day (Crystal), Chelsey Morgan Walker (J.B.) and Riley Morgan (Kayla); four great-grandchildren, Carleigh Day, Hughes Day, Mary Morgan Walker, Frances Diane Walker, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Allen Stokely; her second husband, Randy Mann; five brothers, Joe White, Jr., Bobby White, Charles White, Don White, and Edward Rozell White.
Pallbearers for the service will be Bobby Glen Stokely, Bobby Morgan, Mike Escue, Alan Lewis, Samuel Ronk, and Joseph Ronk. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stokely and Bobby Stokely.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Marvin’s Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Linda Carlton, 3964 Poplar Corner Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012 or Trinity Cemetery Fund, c/o Janet Willis, 437 Preston Dr., Brownsville, TN 38012 or the American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
