Bobbie Barcroft Simmons passed away on January 2, 2021 at Sugar Creek Senior Living Center in Brownsville, Tennessee. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Tabernacle Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hutcherson officiating.
Bobbie Simmons was born August 3, 1929, to Robert Jenkins Barcroft and Araminta Ivy Lea Barcroft of the Allen Community. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Simmons and her sister, Virginia Lea Barcroft Thornton.
Bobbie is survived by her three daughters, Pat Emerson (Kenneth), Terry Thornton (Macon), and Brenda Lees (Mike); seven grandchildren, Kathryn Moore Williams (Glyn), Jourdan Moore (Tiffany), Lea Thornton Griffith (Brian), Regen Thornton (Laura), Ben Thornton (Whitney), Taylor Lees, and Hannah Lees, as well as nine great grandchildren.
Bobbie attended Haywood High School and the University of Tennessee, where she met her husband Jimmy. They raised their three girls in Allen and were active in the Brownsville community all their lives. Bobbie was an avid bridge player.
Pallbearers are Regen Thornton, Ben Thornton, Jourdan Moore, Mike Lees, Brian Griffith, and David Lee. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff and sitters at Sugar Creek Senior Living Center for their compassion and kindness.
