Billy was born on December 16, 1933, to Brant Castellaw and Florence Wilma White Castellaw in the Holly Grove community in Haywood County. He served in the United States Army as an aircraft mechanic at Fort Lewis, Washington. After military service, he worked in residential construction for 35 years. He was a charter and faithful member of Poplar Corner Baptist Church, along with his wife and partner, Peggy Simpson Castellaw, and was heavily involved in the construction of those facilities. As a member of the Tennessee Baptist Bricking team, he helped brick many churches and worked with Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief in the continental United States. He also traveled overseas with the International Mission Board on numerous construction projects. He enjoyed gardening, cooking a stew for friends and family, traveling, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to others in need. He always kept an atlas close by to monitor the whereabouts of his children and grandchildren. Billy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Billy is survived by his two sons, Regie Castellaw (Kim) and Kevin Castellaw (Sonya), all of Brownsville, TN; one brother, James Brant Castellaw (Gerolyn) of Greenville, SC; one son-in-law, Hutch Hutchins; six grandchildren, Zack Ellington (Beverly), Brittany Baker, Joyce Ann Mattice (Bryan), Molly Bradley (Allen), Brett McDonald (Melissa), and Jeffrey Castellaw, and eight great-grandchildren.
