Billie's Obituary
Mrs. Billie Jean Kirkland age 78 of Bells, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, Saturday, September 17, 2016 at her home in the Holly Grove Community.
She was born in Haywood County April 21, 1938 to the late Will Whorton and Floy Watson Whorton. Mrs. Kirkland retired from Kleer-Vu and a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Kirkland; brother, Virgil Whorton and a sister, Dorothy Bruce.
Mrs. Kirkland is survived by a son, Roger Kirkland and wife Tonya of Bells; two daughters, Barbara Hayes and husband David of Brownsville and Sandra Campbell and husband Kelvin of Bells. Other survivors include five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Jean Kirkland will be conducted Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Bro. Jerry Wilson officiating. Brownsville Funeral Home is in charge of services. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. The Kirkland family will receive friends on Sunday at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
The family requests that those desiring to send memorials, direct them to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Memory of Mrs. Kirkland.
