Betty's Obituary Betty Lou Lax, age 65 of Bolivar, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Bolivar General Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1951 in Fayette County, TN to the late Mr. Monroe Goodman and Gracie Watson Goodman. Mrs. Lax enjoyed making flower arrangements, maintained a Commercial Appeal paper route in the Whiteville area and managed four restaurants for over 25 years in Whiteville. She was loved by many and was a mother to all. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Lax is survived by one brother, Mr. Jimmy Goodman of the Tibbs Community; two sisters: Mrs. Erma Evans and her husband Jerry of Whiteville, TN and Mrs. Anita Franklin of St. Louis, MO. She leaves a legacy of numerous nieces and nephews and many special children, especially Mr. Aubrey Phillips. A Memorial Gathering will be held to honor the life of Mrs. Betty Lou Lax at the Whiteville Community Center on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM.
