Betty Jordan, age 73, a devoted Christian lady and musician, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at her residence in the Providence Community. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Martha Bunch and Jerry Winberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Providence Cemetery. Visitation for Ms. Jordan will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
Betty was born on July 10, 1951, in Jackson, TN to Flossie Amos Campbell and Josephine Jones Campbell. She retired from American Olean Tile in Jackson, TN. She was married to Mike Jordan for 53 years. He passed away in March of 2023. She was a faithful, lifetime member of Providence Methodist Church, where she played the piano, the organ and was a member of the church choir. She was a gifted musician and enjoyed sharing her talent and the gift of music with the church. She was also fond of camping with her family. She loved country western dancing with her late husband. Family was important to her, and the times she cherished most was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Jordan (Tiffany) of Jackson, TN; her daughter, Connie Cobb (Phillip) of Bells, TN; her brother, James Thomas Campbell; her sister, Helen Stokely; her grandchildren, Blake Coulston (Bailey), Ashley Ching (Joseph), Bradley Jordan (Tara), Emily King (Clayton) and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn Ching, Cooper Ching, Hunter Coulston, Isabella Coulston and Waylon Coulston (on the way)!
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth “Mike” Jordan; her parents, Flossie Amos Campbell and Josephine Jones Campbell, one brother, Jerald Mack Campbell, and one sister Lillie Hayes.
Pallbearers for the service are Blake Coulston, Bradley Jordan, Clayton King, Joe Ching, Tim Foote and Tony Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Coulston and Jerry Winberry.
The family has requested memorials be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
