Betty Ann's Obituary Mrs. Betty Johnson age 80 of Brownsville, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born November 29, 1936 in Gibson County to the late Roy Smith, Sr. and Lela Frances Arnold Smith. She worked for Wells Lamont for twenty-seven years, Haywood County Board of Education for ten years as well as Brownsville Baptist Church Child Development Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Johnson; brother, Roy Smith, Jr.; three sisters, Martha Frances Hendrix, Katheryn Milam and Melba Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Kean and husband Robert of Brownsville; two sisters, Genrose Hopper and Syble Lott both of Brownsville. Other survivors include her grandson and caregiver, Travis Kean. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Kean, Bobby McCage, Dewayne Hendrix, Ernie Hendrix, Bill Sullivan and Mike Perry. Graveside services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Brownsville Memorial Gardens with DJ Brewer officiating and burial to follow.
