Betty Anne English, 57, died Tuesday, February 20, at Jackson-Madison County Hospital. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, February, 25, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2018, 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. She was a lifelong resident of Brownsville and a member of Brownsville Baptist Church, where she was an assistant Sunday School teacher for children, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 356.
Betty Anne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim Fred and Bertha Castellaw English of Brownsville and Thomas and Mattie Lou Tapp Hicks of Stanton; her parents, William Fred English and Rita Maxine Hicks English; and her brother, William Fred English, Jr. She is survived by two sisters, D. N. English (Dr. Danny Winbush) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Rita English Hathcock (Johnny) of Brownsville; two nieces, Lindsey Hathcock Ferrell (Tommy) of Medina, Tennessee, and Amy Hathcock Nighbert (Sean) of San Marcos, Texas; two nephews, John Phillip Hathcock (Holly) of Brownsville and Major William Blake English (Jana) of Medina, Tennessee; 10 great nieces and nephews, Kendall Nighbert, Walker Nighbert, Zachary Ferrell, Catherine Ferrell, Mason Hathcock, Miller Hathcock, Miles Hathcock, Konner Knop, Madison Michael, and Ava Rose English.
Betty Anne loved animals, and she was the loving parent to many dogs she rescued over her lifetime, therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brownsville-Haywood County Humane Society, P. O. Box 565, Brownsville, TN 38012.
