Betty Cozart

Mrs. Ella Elizabeth “Betty” Cozart, age 76, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the Crestview Healthcare Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017, 5:30 - 7:30 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church. Betty graduated from Mississippi State College for Women. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Town and Country Garden Club, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Harold Stanley Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed playing golf, bridge, painting, dancing, gardening, exercising and reading. Mrs. Cozart was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd Rainer Thomas and Johnnie Mae Jones Thomas, one son: Robert Kenneth “Bob” Cozart, Jr., two brothers: Lloyd Thomas, Jr. and William B. Thomas and one sister: Mary Ann Carr. She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Cozart, Brownsville, TN, two sons: David Cozart (Ashley) Tuscumbia, AL, and Stephen Cozart, Jackson, MS, daughter-in-law: Gina Cozart, Brownsville, TN, nine grandchildren: Robert, Houston, Kendyl, Sydney, Samantha, Bailey, Tom, Riley and Natchez. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin Street, Brownsville, TN 38012.
