Bettie Byrd Anthony

Bettie Byrd Anthony, age 74, a resident of Brownsville, TN, departed this life Monday, January 17, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation for Mrs. Anthony will be from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel. Bettie was born on April 16, 1947, in Lauderdale County to Early Canatser and Ernestine Beshires Byrd, who preceded her in death. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She found enjoyment and pleasure in reading, spending time with her family, and donating to charities. She loved her dog, Sam and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Bettie is survived by her husband, Lennard Anthony of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Lenora Byrd and April Hupp, both of Brownsville, TN; one brother, E.B. Conatser (Donna) of Bells, TN; three sisters, Brenda Davis of Jackson, TN, Kathy Newman of Dancyville, TN, and Sandra Henderson of Bells, TN. She leaves a legacy of love for her seven grandchildren, Jada Farley, Jacob Farley, Brandon Evans, Jr., Brittany Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Jennifer Ross, Shay Person and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Byrd; one brother, Early B. Conatser, and one sister, Linda Johnson. Pallbearers for the service are Jerry Lee Bryant, E.B. Conatser, Jr., Shane Conatser, Thomas Conatser, Ethan Conatser, and Ric Shoemaker. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Group – Brownsville Chapel.
