Bertie's Obituary Mrs. Bertie Maie Barden, age 91 of Brownsville, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Sugar Creek Senior Living Community. She was born May 29, 1926 in Henry County to the late Aus Autry and Ida Hampton Autry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Joe Barden, Jr.; one brother, Walden Autry and one sister Edna Autry. Survivors include three sons, Joe Barden III and wife Jan of Brownsville, Thomas Barden and wife Sheri of Jackson, and W.A. Barden and wife Gail of Brownsville; two daughters Martha Maie Brummett of Brownsville and Deborah Webster and husband Nolan of Jackson; one brother, Dwayne Autry of Brownsville; two sisters, Dorothy Duncan of Brownsville and Raymal Jackson of North Carolina. Other survivors include thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Stanley, Bert Porch, Brad Tinsley, Sammy Tinsley, Edward Ellington and Glen Claburn. Serving as honorary pallbearers are the grandsons of Mrs. Barden. Funeral Services for Mrs. Barden were conducted on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Bowling and Rev. Jay Stephenson, officiating. Burial followed in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. The Barden Family received friends on Friday at the Brownsville Funeral from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.
