Bertha Hood

Mrs. Bertha Wells Hood, age 87, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, in the Bells Nursing Home. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 11 AM in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. She worked as a beautician in the Tibbs Community. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Tibbs where she and her husband, George, made their home and raised their family. She loved to travel and found great fulfillment in spending time with family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hood; her parents, Oather and Novie Hibbert Wells and a brother, Roy E. Wells. She is survived by her sons, Michael C. Hood (Vicky), Robert F. “Bob” Hood, and Richard W. “Ricky” Hood (Teresa); five grandchildren, Heather Hood Hardister (Robert), Robin Hood (Kimberly), Richard Hood (Amber), Chelsey Hood Gaters (Justin) and Megan Hood; one step grandson, Robert Garrett; eight great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Jeannie Wells.
