Bert's Obituary Mr. William Bert Martin, Sr. age 82 of Hillville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 15, 1935 in Haywood County to the late Silas Jobe Martin and Mattie Cleek Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Silas Bert Martin, Roscoe Martin and Jerry Martin; two brothers and two sisters, Vernon Martin, Silas Martin, Sarah Rogers and Dorothy Clark. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy Goodman Martin; son, William Martin, Jr. and wife Bobbie of Jackson; two daughters, Lucy Campbell and husband Truman and Joy Williams and husband David all of Brownsville; two daughters-in-law, Shelia Martin of Brownsville and Sally Martin of Jackson. Other survivors include thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Campbell, Clarence Benard, Jonathan Martin, Silas Bert Martin, Jr., Gary Elrod, Jimmy McBride and Rodney Wright. Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be conducted Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Thomas Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Dancyville Assembly of God Church Cemetery. The Martin family will receive friends on Monday at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
