Barry Yearwood

Mr. Barry Ray Yearwood, age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Lea and Simmons Home Chapel in Brownsville, TN. Mr. Yearwood was a retired field appraiser for the Haywood County Assessor’s Office. He graduated from Haywood High School in 1967, attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and served in the Army National Guard. He will be remembered for his colorful character, love of road trips, food, and hanging out with his friends at his “Shop”. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Anne Yearwood and Amanda Beth Yearwood of Brownsville, TN, and a nephew, Matthew Freeman of Pevely, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan Ward Yearwood and Lucille Permenter Yearwood, a sister, Lucy Yearwood Freeman, and a brother, Bill Yearwood. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
