Barbara Drake Stafford, age 73 passed away in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Graveside Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens at 12 noon. A visitation for the Stafford family will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. She was preceded in death by her parents: Andrew Drake and Aileen Shaw Drake and the couple that raised her; Lessie and Newt Stewart, three brothers: Clifford Russell Drake, Chesley Drake and Maurice Drake and a sister; Jeannette Stokes. Mrs. Stafford is survived by her husband; Billy Stafford, Sugar Tree, TN, two daughters: Brenda Lea (Bill) Brownsville, TN, Betty Friend (Jerry) Little Rock, AR, a sister Christine Reid, Ripley, TN, eight grandchildren: Abby Hooper (Jason), Emily Chantharasy (Thom), Patrick Friend, Katherine Friend, Joseph Friend, William Lea (Terri), Selle Shanks (Tim) and Anne Workman (Rusty), twelve great-grandchildren: Drake Hooper, Stafford Hooper, Mary Elizabeth Hooper, Miller Chantharasy, Thom Chantharasy, Joseph Shanks, Elizabeth Shanks, Conlee Lea, MarySelle Lea, John Russell Workman, Mae Workman and Will Workman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center, 130 Boyd Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012.
