Austin Howard Powell

Austin Howard Powell, 23, of Germantown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21, 2017. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25th at the Grace Evangelical Church in Germantown with Dr. James Young III officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN.

Mr. Powell attended the Grace Evangelical Church. He graduated Briarcrest High School in May of 2013 where he played soccer and basketball. He was a senior at Mississippi State University, majoring in Public Relations and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

He was preceded in death by two of his grandparents, Diane Hopkins Powell and Michael George Worley.

He is survived by his parents, Walter H. Powell, II and Jennifer Worley Powell, three brothers, Emerson E. Powell, Michael R. Powell, & Samuel G. Powell, one sister, Mary Parker Powell, all of Germantown, grandparents, Judy & Bruce Herron, Ray Powell & Jan Worley, his girlfriend, Morgan Kahle and his furry friend, Trillie.

Serving as active pallbearers are Morgan Cowles, Michael Richards, Winston Wolters, Nelson Jones, Austin Nichols, Tyler Kahle, John Thomas Parker, Trey Linville, Mason Manguno, Ryan Wade & Austin Whitley. Honorary pallbearers will be the 2013 Briarcrest High School Basketball Team & the Mississippi State University Phi Delta Theta Chapter.
