Ann Walker's Obituary
Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Harmer age 94 of Brownsville, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 in Tennova Regional Hospital, Jackson, TN.
Mrs. Harmer was born on September 27, 1923 in Haywood County to the late Edward Williams Walker, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzy) King Walker.
Mrs. Harmer loved to garden, crocheting and crafting. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville. The Harmer family lived in the McIllwain Community in Benton County for forty years before relocating back to Haywood County. She is a descendent of Rev. Howell Taylor and family, one of first settlers of Haywood County. Mrs. Harmer is referenced in the Taylor of Tabernacle books.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Harmer and a brother Edward (Bubba) Walker, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Walker Harmer and wife Betty of Brownsville, TN; daughter, Dr. Wendy Harmer and husband Dale of Blacksburg, VA.; grandchildren, Will Harmer of Brownsville, TN, Cynthia Holland of Camden, TN, and three additional grandchildren as well as a great grandson, Matthew Holland of Knoxville, TN and seven additional great grandchildren.
A private service and burial will be held at a Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nutbush, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in memory of Mrs. Harmer.
