Anita Kay Ray

Anita Kay Sikes Ray, age 69, departed this life on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. 

Anita was born on December 19, 1955, to Luther Thomas “LT” Sikes and Iva Mae Bray Sikes in Jackson, TN. Anita found great joy in going shopping at Goodwill and going out to eat. She loved her family, and spending time with them brought her much happiness. Anita also enjoyed the company of her two dogs, Daisy and Pookie.

Anita is survived by two sons, Paul Maddox of Brownsville, TN and Vincent Maddox (Kesha) of Smyrna, TN; one daughter, Roxanne Vernon (Norman) of Brownsville, TN; one sister, Reta Mathis of Jackson, TN; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LT and Iva Mae Sikes; one sister, Fay Hardy and one grandchild, Michael Dillon Brawley. 

The family has chosen cremation and there are no services at this time. All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
