 Alma Olivia Murphy, age 62, departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Haywood Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 12 Noon at the St. James Church of God in Christ with Pastor James Gray officiating. Burial will follow at the St. James Church of God in Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 12 Noon at the church. 

 Alma was born on November 16, 1961, to Ale Murphy and Oz Watkins Murphy; She worked as a security guard at the Whiteville Correctional Facility in Whiteville, TN. She enjoyed cooking and fixing a great meal. She loved children, she loved life and will be greatly missed.

 She is survived by two brothers, Dennis Murphy and Earl Murphy; one sister, Corine Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ale Murphy and Oz Watkins Murphy; six brothers, Jimmy Murphy, Johnny Mess, Joe Cherry, Albert Murphy, Joe Willie Murphy and Tommy Murphy; seven sisters, Betty Murphy, Joann Murphy, Ozella Murphy, Margaret Springfield, Ella Murphy, Phebe Murphy, and Magnolia Miller. . The family would like to express their sincere love and appreciation to their wonderful caregiver and niece, Linda Faye Murphy. 

 Pallbearers for the service will be Michael Harris, Travis Pugh, Sr., Travis Pugh, Jr., Jerome Miller Sr., Walter Blair, Jartarus Wilkes, Kendrick Murphy, Marco Murphy. 

 All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
